Date: June 13, 2008 Duration: 1.2 hrs Aircraft: N1151M
Route: KAWO
PIC: 1.2 hrs Landings: 2 ldgs
POB: Neal Karman (Examiner)
Remarks: We started off on our flight plan (KAWO to Lake Wenatchee, Wenatchee, Elensburg, and back) but could only make it a couple miles away from Arlington before we ran into the 2000' cloud bases. I asked if we could go the other direction because it was looking not so good ahead. Neal diverted me to Lupien on Camano Island and I took a heading toward that, and told him the ETE. Staying clear of the Class C airspace on Whidbey Island, we did our flight maneuvers over the south end of Camano Island, then headed toward stanwood to do some simulated emergencies. Instrument work was fun, and Neal messed up all my radios before he told me to head to KPAE, once I got us on course to Paine, we headed back to Arlington for a soft field landing and take off, then a short field landing. The torture was when we got back and I asked how I did. Neal just responded "How do you think you did?" I said I did well and he just walked inside with a smirk. The whole time he was typing on the computer I didn't know what the answer was. Not until I filled out my 1.2 hours and handed the logbook to Neal to sign did I see "PRIVATE PILOT CHECKRIDE SUCCESSFUL." I think the whole county could feel my sigh of relief.
